Gas furnace installation and repair
Gas furnaces are common across East Tennessee and give strong, steady heat on cold mornings. We install new gas furnaces, replace worn-out ones and repair furnaces that will not light, shut off early or blow cold air. Common causes are dirty flame sensors, failed igniters, bad pressure switches, blocked flues and control board problems.
On every gas furnace visit we check burner operation, gas pressure, venting, the heat exchanger and all safety controls. A furnace that runs is not the same as a furnace that runs safely, and we check both.
Gas line and gas piping work
We run and repair gas piping for furnaces, gas packs, heaters and other gas appliances. Every connection is leak tested before the system is turned on. If you are adding a gas appliance, converting equipment or moving a unit, we can plan the piping so it is sized correctly for the load.
Gas safety
If you smell gas, leave the building right away, do not flip switches or use anything that could spark, and call your gas utility or 911 from outside. Once the utility has made it safe, we can find and repair the problem on your heating equipment.
We strongly recommend a working carbon monoxide detector on every floor of any home with gas appliances. During our visits we check for proper venting and combustion so your equipment is not putting your family or employees at risk.
Signs your gas furnace needs service
Call for service if your furnace takes several tries to light, the burner flame looks yellow or lazy instead of blue, you hear booming or rattling at startup, the blower runs but the air is cold, or your carbon monoxide detector goes off. A furnace that short cycles, smells like burning dust for more than the first few minutes of the season, or leaves soot around the vent also needs to be checked. Higher gas bills with no change in how you use your home usually mean the furnace is not burning efficiently. Catching these problems early keeps your family safe and avoids a no-heat call on the coldest night of the year.
